GAL Sync for Microsoft Graph

PowerShell tooling to synchronise organisational directory contacts into mailbox contact folders.

Problem

An organisation’s Global Address List is not automatically available in native phone contacts. That can prevent caller identification from using organisational contact details.

Technical approach

The repository uses PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to read directory contacts and synchronise them to mailbox contact folders. It supports directory-wide targeting, groups or a mailbox list, optional contact filters and logging. The documented design uses application permissions and can use either Graph requests or the Graph SDK.

Technical decisions

Graph provides the integration surface instead of an Exchange Web Services dependency. Targeting and contact filters make the synchronisation scope explicit rather than assuming every mailbox should receive every contact.

Source and context

The public README documents parameters, permissions and usage. It credits contributors and earlier work. A public repository is evidence of the implementation, not a guarantee that its authentication approach and permissions suit a current production tenant; these need review before deployment.
